Our History
Clapton Orient WFC also famously known as the COWS, was formed back in the 1992-93 season as a product of Leyton Orient FC's Community Sports Programme. This was one of the first community schemes, supported by the local boroughs including Hackney, to develop women's and girls' football in the local area. Clapton Orient is Leyton Orient's pre-war name and where they used to play. In 2007 Clapton Orient WFC changed it's name to Tower Hamlets WFC.COW Rules
In order to keep things friendly, we try not to have too many rules, but we ask that each player represents the club and themselves in a fair and responsible way. We welcome all new members regardless of ethnic origin, nationality, age, ability or sexuality. Equally, we categorically do not tolerate any form of discriminatory or offensive behaviour. We also ask that anybody playing for Tower Hamlets WFC give an equal level of respect to players from other teams.Committee
Our team has a committee of players voted each season. They deal with the football issues off the field like social events, fund raising and if there's any issues that people are concerned with or feel need high lighting then we also have player reps.
